Delaware First Health (DFH) presented a $5,000 contribution to the Latin American Community Center (LACC) with a $5,000 match from the Centene Foundation. DFH celebrated the opening of the LACC's newest location, La Fiesta III Early Learning Center, in New Castle, DE, which will help expand their service reach beyond the city of Wilmington, Delaware.
The La Fiesta III Learning Center will be open to children as young as six weeks old, with the goal of providing early development care for nearly 100 children. Teaching will occur in both English and Spanish.
The Delaware First Health Plan President & CEO, spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony, stating that the community center has DFH's full-support as they work to improve health outcomes and address health related social needs for members of the Spanish-speaking community. The LACC plans to use the donation from DFH and the Centene Foundation to purchase kitchen items and fill their food pantry so it can become a resource for those affected by food insecurity.
