Welcome to Delaware First Health. Thank you for being part of our network. We are pleased to provide you with training and education opportunities to assist you throughout your experience working with us. Please review our upcoming training opportunities and register in advance using the links below. Clinical Provider Training
Delaware First Health offers live and virtual led provider trainings for both behavioral health and physical health providers in our network at no cost. Our team provides mostly clinical, provider-focused education geared towards improving member outcomes. Many of these trainings offer free continuing education credits.

Centene Institute for Advanced Health Education
The mission of the Centene Institute for Advanced Health Education (“Centene Institute”) is to educate teams of healthcare professionals through empowering, research-informed content that aims to improve the skills, strategy, and performance of the healthcare team, patient quality of care, and health outcomes of the community. In support of improving patient care, the Centene Institute is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Health care professionals have access to free trainings through Centene Institute's Home page.

- Providers Clinical Support System Training PCSS is a free SAMHSA funded national training program on substance use disorder, alcohol use disorder and opioid use disorder.
- Overdose Prevention Resources CDC has various resources that can help supplement efforts to prevent overdose and substance use related harms. This information also allows a user to stay up to date with news from the Division of Overdose Prevention.
Delaware First Health encourages providers to participate in cultural competency trainings every year to all members receive competent care. We offer live training and have various resources for free training. During the annual PCP Attestation process, each PCP can attest to completion of the training by completing the Annual PCP Attestation Form.
Additionally, now Non-PCPs may also attest to completing cultural competency training by completing the Non-PCP Attestation Form.

Culturally Appropriate Care & Health Equity
This training is designed for all healthcare professionals to learn how to address culturally appropriate care in order to improve member’s care, safety, and overall experience. You can also earn (2) Continuing Education (CE) credit hours.

- Think Cultural Health: This free, accredited e-learning program is designed for maternal health care providers and students seeking knowledge and skills related to cultural competency, cultural humility, person-centered care, and combating implicit bias across the continuum of maternal health care. Delaware First Health leverages our corporate company’s state & national training expertise to offer webinars that support the delivery of quality care to our LTSS/LTC population. Trainings are offered at no cost & available to any provider, stakeholder, community member and/or staff. Most topics are geared toward the care of vulnerable/older adults; however some topics are relevant to children in LTSS. Upcoming 2026 Dates - To Be Announced
Delaware First Health is pleased to partner with Payspan Health to provide an innovative web-based solution for Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs). This service is provided at no cost to providers and allows online enrollment. Payspan offers monthly training webinars for providers. These webinars cover the registration process for both electronic funds transfers as well as registering and navigating the Payspan portal where providers will be able to view their explanation of payments.
For additional support, providers can also contact the Payspan call center at 1-877-331-7154 (ext. 1), Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-8pm ET or the Payspan FAQs.

Availity Essentials
Delaware First Health is in the process of transitioning to Availity Essentials as our new secure provider portal. Providers can verify member eligibility and benefits, submit claims, check claim status, submit authorizations, and access health plan payer resources via Availity Essentials. Providers can also use the Availity Essentials Risk Condition Validation (RCV) and Clinical Quality Validation (CQV) tools to address risk and care gaps. You may access more information and register for a new account on the Availity Essentials Welcome page.
Once registered, providers and staff can log into the Availity Essentials provider portal, Click Help & Training, Get Trained.
During the transition, providers can still access our secure provider portal.

Delaware First Health offers our providers a secure provider portal to manage patient administrative tasks quickly and easily. Access our Secure Provider Portal to manage these tasks and transactions so you can focus on patient care.
