Value-Added Benefits

As a member, you are able to get extra services in addition to your regular benefits. These are called Value-added Benefits (VAB). For questions or to learn how to get these services, please contact Member Services at 1-877-236-1341 (TTY: 711) 8am-7pm EST.

MY HEALTH PAYS®

Earn rewards when you complete healthy activities like a yearly wellness visit, flu shot, and cancer screenings. See all rewards here.

  • Rewards dollars are added to a card that is mailed to you.
  • You can use the card:
    *   In-person at Walmart or Sam’s Club
    *   For utilities, transportation, phone bills, childcare, education, or rent.
  • Excludes alcohol, tobacco, and firearms.
  • Cards must be used in person.

PHARMACY OVER THE COUNTER (OTC) CATALOG

$120 per year per household to spend on over-the-counter (OTC) products (English) and (Spanish) like diapers, cold remedies, shampoo, period products, and more.

COMMUNITY-BASED WELLNESS PROGRAMS

Get up to $250 per year to stay healthy with our partner organizations.

  • Members can choose one organization per year.
  • Kids (ages 5-18): Boys & Girls Clubs memberships and programs
  • Adults (age 18+ with BMI of 25 or higher): Weight Watchers. Primary Care Provider must fill out the Weight Watchers form found here.
  • Adults (60+): Senior center membership and programs. Offered at Modern Maturity Senior Center in Dover.

ADULT VISION SERVICES

Get a free eye exam and up to $160 for glasses or contacts every year.

  • For members age 21+
  • $160 for eyewear includes frames, lenses, lens upgrades, or contact lenses.

Practice Dental Visit

Visit the dentist before your exam to ask questions and feel comfortable.

  • For members:
    *   All kids age 20 and younger
    *   Adults age 21+ with an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD).
  • Up to 4 practice visits per lifetime.
  • Cannot be used on the same day as a dental appointment.
  • Find a provider here. 

CONNECTIONSPLUS PHONE

Free cell phone for high-needs members.

Members must be in Care Coordination or Case Management

 


HOUSING

Up to $2500 in housing resources.

  • Available to eligible members who are:
    *   Homeless or
    *   Moving from a facility* or foster care (ages 18-26) to independent living.
  • Must have a Case Manager or Care Coordinator
  • Can be used to help pay for security deposits, rent, utilities, food, household goods, eviction help.
  • Cannot exceed $2500 per lifetime

*This is in addition to State allowance for LTSS members.

ASTHMA MANAGEMENT

Get up to $250 per year for asthma support at home.

  • For qualifying members with asthma in Case Management or Care Coordination
  • For support such as:
    *   Hypoallergenic bedding
    *   Air purifiers
    *   Pest control

POST-DISCHARGE HOME DELIVERED MEALS

High-risk members can get meals after leaving the hospital or a care facility.

  • For members 18 or older who are in Case Management or Care Coordination
  • Must meet certain health needs to qualify
  • Get 3 meals a day for 7 days (up to 42 meals per year)

 


            TUTORING FOR KIDS

Does your child need help with school? Get up to $200 per year for tutoring with our online tutoring partner.

  • For members ages 5-18 in school (grades K-12).
  • Tutoring is only available online through Delaware First Health’s approved tutoring partner.
  • You may need to show proof of failing grades.
  • Up to $200 per year (6 hours of tutoring).

WHOLE HEALTH TRANSPORTATION

Need a ride to the doctor? Transportation to doctor appointments and other non-emergency medical services is provided by the Division of Medicaid & Medical Assistance (DMMA) to all Medicaid and Delaware Healthy Children Program clients.

Delaware First Health gives extra rides through our Whole Health Transportation Value Added Benefit.

  • To book a Whole Health Transportation ride, call 877-659-8416.
  • Book rides at least 3 days in advance.

Get Whole Health Transportation rides to:

  • Value-Added Benefits (like eye exams, practice dental visits, or GED test)
  • Delaware First Health events (like Member Advisory Council meetings)
  • Up to 10 rides per year for qualifying non-medical services like:
    *   Pharmacy trips or delivery for prescriptions
    *   Court-ordered exams and visits (probation, parole, etc.)
    *   Up to 4 roundtrip rides per month for help with food, housing, job interviews, prenatal support, or childcare
    *   Up to 4 rides per month for 60 days after leaving a hospital or inpatient/residential facility to go to community recovery groups (like AA or NA)
    *   Up to 2 roundtrip rides per hospital stay for member’s family or caregiver to visit hospital or inpatient facility for discharge planning
    *   Up to 4 roundtrip rides per month for children in foster care to go to social outings or activities (like sports)

GED TESTING & TUTORING

Get up to $200 per year to help you earn your GED.

  • For members age 16+ who are not in school
  • Must use Delaware First Health’s approved GED partner for testing or tutoring services.
  • Up to $200 per year

DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM 

Program focused on healthy eating and physical activity for members at risk for diabetes. 

  • Members age 18+ who:
    *   are not currently pregnant
    *   have not been diagnosed with diabetes
    *   have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25 or higher (23 or higher if Asian American)
  • Additional criteria will be checked when you sign up.

Feeling lonely, stressed, or just need to talk?

  • Use the app or get phone support.
  • For members age 18+

PREGNANCY

Get 2 more doula visits during pregnancy.

  • For members who have already had 3 covered prenatal doula visits
